Dogfish Head Brewery

Driving to Dogfish Head Brewery and Tasting Room was a lovely roadtrip to my favorite brewery, in Milton, Delaware

For as long as my adult drinking life existed, my favorite beer was Dogfish Head Brewery’s 90 Minute IPA. So, while in Washington DC to photograph the bountiful and beautiful cherry blossoms, I made a road trip to Delaware my priority.

Now, there is something I always love about a meandering road trip. Driving from Washington, through Maryland to Delaware and the Atlantic Coast was a pleasure. The 2 hours flew by as the scenery changed beyond my dashboard.

Before I knew it, I was at Dogfish Head Brewery. And I was exceptionally happy to be at the home of one of my favorite brews.

Finding a seat at the bar, I ordered the BAVARIAN STYLE PRETZEL (served with Beer Cheese and Mustard) and the 8” PERSONAL MEAT PIZZA (pepperoni, salami, sausage).

These light bites of food were perfect to go with my main events of the afternoon.

My pours of the AW, BEANS! (Milk stout brewed with roasted garbanzo and fava beans – 6.1% ABV) and the best, most outstanding version of my favorite beer: VINTAGE 120 MINUTE IPA 2019 (15% – 20% ABV) were happiness, magic and fun in two glasses.

Worth every delicious break and sip during my first visit to the great state of Delaware.

Especially because I bought some bottles back to Los Angeles and shared them with friends.
