Surfers Point Café

Surfers Point Café is a spot in Ventura, California for easy breakfast access before biking up the Pacific coastline.

After stepping off the Pacific Coastline Amtrak train at the Ventura Station with our bikes, Leanne and I found ourselves in need of a breakfast. Whether it was the early nature of the hour combined with the lulling rocking of the train, our first order of business before biking up the coast needed to be getting food and the highest amount of caffeine I could digest.

With a quick search, we settled on Surfer’s Point Cafe. Why? It was close to the station – which meant a 4 minute bike ride.

Once we arrived, we locked up our bikes and moseyed up to the counter to order. Reviewing the menu, I settled on the ITALAN SALAMI BREAKFAST BAGEL (Everything bagel, pesto spread, salami, provolone, red onion and tomato). Asking for the egg to be removed – received a look.

But, most people in Ventura who think they’re better than people living in Los Angeles enjoy giving side eye looks freely.

Nevertheless, I continued with a pour over brew, which had the most caffeine.

Overall, we enjoyed it. It wasn’t a bagel at Hank’s Bagels on Ventura. But, the breakfast did the job that it needed to do.
