Brophy Bros – Ventura

Meeting my friend Kat and Matt and their new baby in Ventura was an absolute delight. As Brophy Bros was close to their place, it was only natural that we end up there for a lovely dinner at the water, before my husband and I continued to the Majestic Ventura Theater for a comedy show.

Parking, we went upstairs and greeted our friends. It was a warm and inviting table, as conversation flowed.

For dinner, I ordered the BROPHY’S NEW ENGLAND CLAM CHOWDER & House Salad Combo.

It was perfect. The side of greens with sesame dressing was an absolute delicious delight as I also savored the cup of clam chowder.

Few things are as lovely as savoring delicious food while overlooking the water. Truly, my dinner at Brophy Bros – along with the perfect sunset – was a great time with friends in Ventura.

It had been absolutely WAY too long since I’d seen Lucia, a friend of mine from elementary school. So, when suggested that we met for lunch, she suggested Brophy Bros, located at the Ventura pier - slightly up the coast from Los Angeles in Ventura County.

When we both arrived, hugs and salutations followed.

As it was a beautiful day outside, we opted to wait for a table on the patio.

Chilling and catching up at the bar, I enjoyed a pint of FIRESTONE WALKER’S CALI SQUEEZE IN BLOOD ORANGE.

It was fantastic to relax and catch up while overlooking Ventura harbor.

Once our table opened up, it was a pleasure to sit closer to the water.

To start, I ordered the BROPHY’S NEW ENGLAND CLAM CHOWDER. Upon first taste, I was in food heaven.

It had been so long since I’d had clam chowder that I greatly enjoyed. It was the perfect appetizer to enjoy while basking in the views of the pier and the green hills of Ventura.

Up next, was the BEER BATTERED FISH & CHIPS. Honestly, this was average to me.

On the other hand, my friend loved her AHI TUNA POKE (Sushi-grade tuna, cabbage, mixed greens, bell pepper, daikon sprouts, snow peas, crispy wontons, & sesame vinaigrette) and highly recommended it.

Basking in conversation and vibes, it was a perfect day to enjoy the sun, the landscape and friendship.
