Hilton San Diego Bayfront features waterfront views and modern touches - offering upscale accommodations with easy access to San Diego’s top attractions
There are some times where sharing your goals and desires with friends can shift your life. At the start of the year, I created a list of desires that I wanted to see fulfilled. One of them was to visit San Diego, go on a lovely bike ride along the waterfront and enjoy another night of drinks with friends at Youngblood.
With the friends set for arrival, the main question loomed: where to say? After a quick look around, I decided to try a new hotel, as my usual favorite – Carte Hotel San Diego Downtown and InterContinental San Diego were in a different area than I wanted to stay in. After thinking about the gorgeous bay front views, I decided on the Hilton San Diego Bayfront.
Room & Stay
Arriving to San Diego later in the evening, checking into my room via the Hilton app and being able to directly walk to the room was a pleasure. The hotel felt updated modern and comfortable – and not my usual “Ugh, this is a mass market, boring Hilton.”

The room itself was fine for a Hilton standard hotel room.
However, the main star of the room?
The view.
The view was absolutely lovely.
It was an absolute pleasure to be on the 25th floor and gaze at the changing patterns of the clouds from the comfort of the bed.
The bathroom wasn’t anything special – a typical Hilton property design. I am not a fan of brown countertops and sparse appointments.
But, I booked for the view – and the view was worth it.

And, it was MUCH better than Hilton San Francisco Union Square, that’s for sure. I still think, that the Hilton Austin is my favorite Hilton. But, I digress.
Activities
Another selling point about booking the Hilton San Diego Bayfront are the amenities and activities. For this particular trip, I wanted to rent bikes to ride with friends on Coronado Island. It was easy! Within minutes the process was complete and we were all our way to the Coronado Ferry Convention Center dock at Embarcadero Marina Park.

At the cocktail bar, I did enjoy a Lavender Bees Knees, which was rather tasty.
Overall
Overall, I greatly appreciated my time at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront: It was close to the Gaslight district; an easy shared ride to North Park and offered a comfortable place to stay and play for a few nights in San Diego, California.
