The Hilton Austin hotel in Austin, Texas, is a contemporary hotel situated in downtown Austin, near the city's vibrant nightlife and entertainment venues.
Situated in the heart of downtown, Hilton Austin offers a blend of traditional Hilton comforts, convenience, and Texas hospitality. In booking my stay in Austin for this trip, I wanted to stay close to Sixth Street, as I wanted to go to a slow at Comedy Mothership. Plus, I wanted to experience a different area of Austin, separate from JW Marriott Austin, tommie Austin and The Otis Hotel Austin.
Check in + Stay
Checking into the hotel was effortless. In short order, I had an upgraded room, on a high floor, away from the elevator, overlooking the Colorado River. It truly pays to be kind and make the person checking you in laugh.
Entering my room, I felt pleased that the room flowed well. The design marries contemporary sophistication with a warm aesthetic.
I especially loved the blue tile in the shower. The room simply felt comfortable, as the art pieces that pay homage to Austin’s unique creative scene. It was the little touches that made my stay feel pleasant, a balance that’s not always easy to find in city hotels.
Most importantly, the bed was extremely comfortable.
Parking
Parking was $38 a night – which was decent (looking at you, Thompson Denver). It was underground and felt safe. Of course, the exit ticket for nightly parking never worked. But, after my experience at JW Marriott Austin, I was used to the process of needing to use the call button to get out. Was it slightly annoying? Yes. Was it that big of a deal? Nah.
Overall
For this stay, the Hilton Austin gave me the ideal balances location and comfort. Its central location to areas of Austin I wanted to visit, thoughtful design, and range of amenities catered to all of my desires.
