The Cassara Carlsbad, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Staying at The Cassara Carlsbad, Tapestry Collection by Hilton in Carlsbad, CA made getting to San Diego and enjoying area attractions easy

In searching for a hotel for a quick getaway to San Diego, I knew that I wanted a decent priced option with maximum visual appeal. It wasn’t about a luxury getaway. It was really about hanging out in the San Diego area, for kayaking and getting out of Los Angeles.

So, when I expanded my search and looked at Carlsbad and La Jolla area, I found the Cassara Carlsbad, a Tapestry Collection by Hilton.

Location

Upon arriving, I felt the location was close enough to where I wanted to go in San Diego – but not too far away.

The location and vibe of the hotel felt California Coastal. I loved the hues of blue, brown and neutrals that really gave it a sense of presence.

From parts of the hotel, you can see the Pacific Ocean- which is always a plus in my book.

Room + Stay

The one thing I did not like is that when I was on the balcony, I could hear a conversation that another two people were having on their balcony VERY CLEARLY. So, I got to hear someone else’s life story of growing up as a troubled teen and how they grew out of it, based on the acoustics and angle of my room to theirs.

To this, I say – good job random guy. Glad you made it to the other side of your struggles. Some people don’t have the strength, and you did.

Beyond that, the room was rather lovely. I felt that the hotel had been recently renovated and cleaned.

The shared spaces of the hotel were visually well appointed.

Overall

Overall, my night stay at The Cassara Carlsbad, Tapestry Collection by Hilton was pleasant. Yes, it’s not directly in San Diego. But, it’s close enough to make getting downtown an easy drive.

Plus, it’s close to LEGOLAND California and Sea World.
