Great Scotland Yard Hotel by Hyatt Unbound Collection

The Great Scotland Yard Hotel is a well designed stay - filled with unique and inspired London historic decor - in Whitehall area of London, England.

In looking for a place to stay in London, I knew that I wanted to stay in a new location, apart from The Hoxton Southwark and One Hundred Shoreditch. After a search, I found the Great Scotland Yard Hotel. As I usually love the Hyatt Unbound Collection of properties, it was a no brainer to book.

Location

After a train ride from Amsterdam to St Pancreas station, it was actually more of a challenge than I thought to take the tube to the Trafalger Square station. None of the elevators worked. Which made going up and down stairs an annoying – but doable adventure.

Getting out of the last stop, I was overwhelmed with happiness to see everything around me. The area was bustling and beautiful.

The Great Scotland Yard Hotel, nestled off the main street of Whitehall, was a welcomed oasis in the city.

Stay + Room

I enjoyed the details of the room. It was distinct and well designed.

Breakfast at The Yard

During check in, one conversation led to another and I ended up receiving complimentary daily breakfast for two during the course of my stay.

Now, this wasn’t as large of a selection and  as spacious as breakfast at Kimpton Charlotte Square or  Hyatt Regency Amsterdam. But, like my breakfasts at One Hundred Shoreditch, it was well curated and to the point.

The one thing my partner said was that he wished there were beans available for him to try. I immediately rolled my eyes. But, agreed.

Cocktails at The 40 Elephants

For a nightcap one night, I had the pleasure of a ESPRESSO MARTINI with MEZCAL with a portion of  RHUM BABA (raisins and vanilla Chantilly).

It was – simply put, perfect.

Overall

Overall, I greatly enjoyed my stay at the Great Scotland Yard Hotel by Hyatt Unbound Collection in London.
