Hyatt Regency Amsterdam

Hyatt Regency Amsterdam was a lovely neighborhood hotel that made me feel at home - in Amsterdam, the Netherlands

As I’d previously stayed at The Hoxton, Herengracht in Amsterdam, I felt that I wanted to experience a different area of Amsterdam.  After a bit of research, I found the Hyatt Regency Amsterdam and was immediately intrigued.

The lush green lobby and overall vibe of the space looked beautiful. Plus, the location seemed walkable and interesting. So, with reservations secured, I looked forward to checking in.

Location

After a wonderful stay at Villa Copenhagen in Denmark, I looked forward to the vibrancy of Amsterdam. After an easy Uber from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, we arrived at the somewhat quiet neighborhood.

Immediately, I loved it. It felt cozy and close to everything – but away from the main area of the city.

I absolutely loved that the hotel was mere feet away from the Weesperplein Metro station, along with the Korte ‘S-Gravesandestraat tram stop.  It was close to everything and yet – felt a world away.

I especially enjoyed that there was a supermarket across from the hotel. As my partner is Dutch, he felt right at home.

Stay + Room

I appreciated the generous space and modern design of the room. It was a king room, high floor with a canal view. It was quiet, the bed was firm and it felt good to come back to after a day of adventuring.

Regency Club Lounge

I’m happy that I upgraded for us to have daily breakfast and Regency Club access. The lounge offered a place to have a delicious selection of snacks and beer. Also, it was nice to write in quiet, while basking in the beautiful view of the neighborhood from the hotel.

Plus, I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet selections.  The buffet felt international and yet nicely flavored with local Dutch treats.

Overall

Overall, I’m very pleased that I reserved a stay at the Hyatt Regency Amsterdam. I loved the green focus of the hotel, the design, the feel and hotel scent.
