Chichen Itza and Xei-Ha Tulum Tour by Xcaret

Visiting Chichen Itza and spending time at Xei-Ha in Tulum was a great way to spend the day in Cancun, Mexico

Waking up in our Hotel Xcaret Mexico suite and having morning coffee while basking in the tropical foliage was spectacular.

We had a quick bite to eat at the Mercado restaurant before hopping on our tour bus for the Chichen Itza and Xei-Ha Tulum Tour by Xcaret.

Chichen Itza and Mayapán

One of the main aspects I relished during planning the trip was looking forward to walking the grounds of Chichen Itza. I felt drawn there, by a very deep desire to learn, witness and touch the stones of the grounds.

Chichen Itza, nestled in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico, stands as a testament to the grandeur of ancient Mayan civilization, making it a captivating destination for luxury travelers seeking a blend of historical immersion and opulent experiences.

Once a thriving city and a hub of Mayan culture, Chichen Itza’s legacy includes iconic structures like the Temple of Kukulcan, the Great Ball Court, and the Observatory, showcasing the Mayan’s architectural prowess and astronomical knowledge. As a luxury travel writer, delving into Chichen Itza’s history unveils a narrative of ancient splendor, where rituals, ceremonies, and celestial observations were interwoven into the fabric of daily life.

Our group tour was led by an extremely friendly and knowledgable guide, Juan Ramon. He offer us a deeper understanding of the site’s history and mythology. Energetically, it felt EXTREMELY POWERFUL to stand and bear witness to the magnificence of the space. Mexico is such a vibrant, culturally rich and beautiful country.

This tour honored Chichen Itza’s historical legacy and connected me to a deeper connection with the rich cultural tapestry of Mexico’s past and present.

However, I cannot stress this enough as a warning: the bugs of Cancun are evil flying demons. They will find the one spot you have not put bug spray on and bite you there.

Xei-Ha Tulum Park

After our tour of Chichen Itza, we were shuttled to Xei-Ha for an afternoon of meandering fun at the park.

I saw a manatee! I fell on slippery ground and skinned my knee! What an adventure!

Overall

Returning to Hotel Xcaret Mexico after a rather long day of adventuring was a welcomed haven of comfort and indulgence after a day of exploration.
