Escaping to the luxury of the all inclusive Hotel Xcaret México was an incredible experience - and a fantastic introduction to the best of Quintana Roo, Mexico
Simply put, Hotel Xcaret México is my favorite, all inclusive hotel in Cancun / Tulum area. It set the standard for what I expect in an all inclusive resort.
Since this is a children included property (unlike its neighboring property, Hotel Xcaret Arte, which is 16 years old and up – aka adults only), it is family friendly. However, there are spectacular adults only areas, specifically geared sipping your your cocktail du jour and staring at the Caribbean ocean as you let the pleasure of relaxation sweep over you.
Arrival
Transportation to and from the airport was included. I opted for a private transport, which made a light nap due to our red eye flight easy.
However, when we arrived around 8am, our room was no where near ready for us. So, we were guided by the care team in a comprehensive tour of the land. I was – overwhelmed by the beautiful of the grounds.
Afterward, we were invited to enjoy breakfast at Mercado de La Merced, the main buffet restaurant on property.
After breakfast, we went to Xcaret Xplor, to have something to do instead of waiting at the hotel.
Room + Stay
The Junior Suite Spa-Adult Only Room was exactly what I wanted and made all the bullshit of the day worth it. It was incredibly designed and stunningly gorgeous. The bar was well stocked with spirits of choice and mixers.
The two hammocks on the two balconies, the outdoor hot tub made of stone, the view from the balconies – everything was beautiful.
The view of the jungle from the room was incredible.
Our team of butlers were extremely helpful and sweet. The morning of my birthday, I awoke to a beautiful in suite presentation with balloons and happy birthday message.
Including a cake!
And the bathroom was lovely. It felt that everything I desired was available.
Hotel Location + Grounds
The beauty of the hotel property cannot be explained in mere words. For, words cannot do it justice.
Only photos.
Everywhere I turned felt like a picture frame of beauty.
Plus, there were little pop up areas around the property for fun foods and the like.
Restaurants + Bars
Mercado de La Merced
All of our meals at Mercado were delicious. However, our first visit was slightly overwhelming. There were so many choices, and I was so tired from our flight, that I couldn’t truly appreciate the space. However, during the course of our visit, I greatly appreciated the beautiful array of food items, along with custom creation stations for omelets and the like.
Room Service for In Room Dining
This was – and always is – my favorite part of full service properties.
Cuevas Brazilian Steak House
This was delicious. However, my phone died and I didn’t take photos of anything.
La Trajinera
Dining at La Trajinera was delicious. Eating by the pool, illuminated by the light – just *chef’s kiss*.
Chibali
I ate here the last breakfast of the trip. I ended up getting food poisoning and was horribly sick for the following week.
Massage at Muluk Spa at Hotel Xcaret México
My two massages at the spa were one of my favorite experiences on my trip.
Overall, my experience at Hotel Xcaret Mexico was spectacular. I loved that the Xcaret parks were included in the stay price. However, MAKE RESERVATIONS IN ADVANCE for popular restaurants and park experiences.
For example, I wanted to book the Xenotes Tour to explore the various cenotes of the area. But, a little under a month out, I was told that it was booked up for the day I wanted. On the other hand, I booked the Chichen Itza and Xei-Ha Tulum Tour by Xcaret, and I found that a much more culturally fulfilling experience.
Do I wish I didn’t get food poisoning on the last morning of the trip, absolutely.
But, overall, was the hotel incredibly beautiful, provided exceptional service and would I go back?
Yes.
