Taking the "Berlin: 1-Hour City Tour by Boat" by Get Your Guide was the perfect introduction to the sights of Berlin, Germany while cruising the Spree River
It was a short Uber ride from Grand Hyatt Berlin to Karl-Liebknecht-Straße 1. Arriving to the Stern and Kreis boat tour ramp on the Spree River, I quickly showed my Get Your Guide voucher and boarded.
Now, the boat tour is primarily in German, with little audio headphones. I got my little headset from the basket after watching someone else do it. There were a few other English speakers on the boat and we helped each other out with figuring out what channel to listen to. I wasn’t there to listen to history as much as take photos of what I saw.
And what I saw as my introduction to Berlin was absolutely visually lovely. The meeting time was perfect, as I was able to to see the sites transform from dusk into early evening.
I took photos of the Berlin Cathedral, the Haus der Kulturen Der Welt, and the Victory Column. I saw the Reichstag Building and was visually overwhelmed by how modern the architectural landscape of Berlin was. The lasting results of World War 2 were around me, energetically and in the rebuilt city.
As the boat turned and the returned to the dock, I was truly happy that I booked the river tour. It was a wonderful introduction to the city.
*As of writing this, the tour I took is not currently on Get Your Guide. So, I provided the link to the actual supplier, Stern and Kreis.
