Agnes is a lovely cheese and charcuterie bar meets outstanding midwestern inspired dining restaurant in Pasadena
Above everything, Agnes is cozy, beautiful and a great spot to spend a dinner in. When I first walked in, I loved that everything you would need for a cute cheese and charcuterie plate, trendy for Instagram picnic and just a lovely snack are right in the front. The store area is clean, well maintained and full of fun surprises. Like a little stuffed Ratatouille in a cubby.
A glass of a lovely 2021 Albarino wine named “Turonia” by Quinta de Couselo from Rias Baixas, Spain started dinner dinner off right. We continued with the 3 CHEESES CHEESE BOARD WITH PROSCIUTTO (Cheeses, Crackers, Corn Nuts, Preserves). The cheeses were Pipers (Goat cheese from Spain on the card – but might actually be from Indiana), Cabot (Cow cheese from Vermont) and Bethmale Chèvre (Goat cheese by Herve Mons from Pyrenees, France).
The salad course of the GREEN OAK LETTUCES (Smoked Almonds, Mustard-Shallot Vin, Dates, Aries Cheese) was absolutely delicious.
The main course of GOULASH ALLA VODKA (Spicy Lamb Sausage, Fennel, Pecorino, Shells and Vodka Sauce) with GRILLED GREEN BEANS (Tahini And Avocado Green Goddess, Sesame-Maple Crunch) was simply perfection.
There were no leftovers.
