Drinking beers at Three Weavers Brewery while enjoying tacos from Bomba! Yucateco Delicacy was a well crafted match of happiness.
When Sonni came back to Los Angeles for an event, I knew that she would have free time to meet at a brewery before her flight. So, I was delighted when she suggested to meet up at Three Weavers Brewery in Inglewood.
I tried the CITRA PUFFS (Hazy IPA – 6.5% ABV) because the design looked too damn cute to pass up. I made a point to taste the KNOTTY (Double IPA – 8.6%) because that’s my usual go to for breweries. The stankier the better. I ended up going with the SUN TRAP (Session Sour Ale – 4.5% ABV) for the first round. Why? Because I made a point to shift to something different than the usual to expand my palate.
For the second round, I had a taste of what set Three Weavers on the map: EXPATRIATE (West Coast IPA – 6.9% ABV). I also tried a taste of the KILL THE LIGHTS (Dark Lager – 5% ABV), done in a German dark lager style.
I ended up finishing up with a half pour of the LINEAR MOMENTUM (Unfiltered IPA – 7% ABV).
Bomba! Yucateco Delicacy
I noticed Bombas set up when I first walked into the brewery. The set up looked delicious and I browsed the menu. I promised to return once I’d seen Sonni and everyone inside.
After a pour of the Linear Momentum, I figured it was time for a taco pairing. So once again, I made my way outside.
Undecided on what taco to commit to, I tried to negotiate a pork taco and chicken taco mix. But, couldn’t swing it. So, I ordered the BOMBA’S CHICKEN TACOS (chicken, cured red onions, avocado, cotija cheese, pickled habanero and avocado-cilantro crema).
Hands down, this taco trio was one of the most perfect examples of chicken tacos I’ve ever had.
The layers of flavor! The perfect amount of finishing salt! The heat yet balance of it all! It was exquisite. Honestly, almost better than tacos I’ve had in Mexico.
It was that good.
As always, it was a fond farewell to Sonni and Forrest.
But, the fact that we were able to meet and share conversation over tacos and beer is what the vibe of Southern California is all about.
