Paperback Brewing Company

After another successful Bespoke Art Society branded artist market with my production partner Hillary, it was time to decompress, reflect, and game-plan. As always, a proper post-event SWAT analysis was in order (shoutout to my college sorority, Gamma Phi Beta for permanently etching that term into my brain), while relaxing and enjoying each other’s company.

Hillary suggested we meet at Paperback Brewing Co. in Glendale, and I was immediately intrigued. I hadn’t been for years – so I was excited for what was to come.

I arrived, grabbed a seat at the bar, and got ready to dive in.

Naturally, when a bartender says that I can try whatever I like, I tend to take them up on that offer. So, I asked the important question of “Can I try…” and the beer flowed.

• DARK STAR (Imperial Stout, 13% ABV): A special treat for barrel-aged beer lovers has arrived! Our Imperial Stout has been aged to perfection for one year in rich Bourbon barrels and is finally ready to pour
• JUANITA LURKS (California Common)
• TUCKED IN BY STRANGERS (West Coast IPA): This beer is the perfect nightcap for anyone who needs a little tuck-in. Our west coast IPA is all Mosaic hops for a “berry medley” of aromas, with stone fruit
• PSYCHEDELIC SASQUATCH (Hazy IPA): Take a ride on the wild side with “Psychedelic Sasquatch” – Hazy India Pale Ale; a trippy trollop through the forests of your mind.
• SUPER FUN! HAZY HOP! (Idaho 7 + Simcoe): A hoppy love hug for your tongue!
• CAPICHE? (Italian Pilsner): It’s a Pilsner You Won’t Refuse… “Capiche?”

After such a delightful sample of Paperback’s line up, I ordered a glass of the DARK STAR. It was exactly what I was looking for.

To pair with all this beer tasting, I was grateful that the Bun & Blanket food truck was parked out front.

I ordered the SINGLE SMASH  and an order of the SIDE OF FRIES (with lemon pepper seasoning).

This was – a hell yes of flavors and vibes.

Fully satisfied and with a refined plan for our next artist market, Hillary and I wrapped up what turned out to be a productive and very satisfying time at Paperback Brewing Company.
