Tartine Sycamore

A stop in Hollywood at Tartine's Sycamore location offered me a delicious lunch in a beautiful, bricked out atmosphere

It had been over a decade since I’d visited Tartine San Francisco. Since then, they’ve opened a few locations around California – namely Los Angeles.

After auditing an acting class in Hollywood, I decided to see what was around for lunch. Happily, Tartine’s location on Sycamore Avenue was only 4 minutes away. Which, for my hungry stomach, was a delight.

Parking on Sycamore Avenue was actually MUCH easier than I expected. After easily accessible street parking, I entered.

The location is gorgeous, spacious and roomy, with two fireplaces for cozy writing or conversing.

Browsing the menu, I ordered the FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH (peanut sauce, lacto-papaya slaw, jalapeños, pickled red onion, sweet potato bun). I also opted to make it a meal – adding FRENCH FRIES and a pour of Boomtown Brewery Beer’s NOSE JOB – West Coast IPA.

The best way I can describe the chicken sandwich is that it’s refreshing. Not like it tastes like a slice of watermelon on a hot day. But, that the peanut sauce and slaw craft a distinct flavor profile on the tongue that surprised me.

The fries were well salted and went exceptionally well with the dill mayo dipping sauce they gave me. Along with the traditional ketchup, of course.

It was the perfect environment to sit, enjoy sips and bites and write.
