Dinner at Electric Owl was an vibrant walk into a time capsule of old Hollywood with modern fare in Hollywood, California
On a lovely night, Katherine and I met for dinner at a unique and lovely restaurant – Electric Owl.
When I walked in, I was drawn into the decor. It felt like I was walking into a modernized time capsule from old Hollywood.
From the website:
Situated on a triangular plot of land that used to be an old train station, the 1920’s decor pays homage to its Old Hollywood and Pacific Electric Car roots. ‘Electric Owl’ was actually a nickname given to the nighttime train conductors from the early 1900’s. Located on Sunset Boulevard, Electric Owl is the brainchild of Chef and Restauranteur, Ernesto Uchimura.
We started with the ROASTED SHISHITO PEPPERS (miso butter, wasabi furikake).
We also shared the SPICY SHRIMP SKEWERS (easy peel ‘n’ eat, dynamite sauce, cilantro, lemon) and PINK HUMMUS (tahini, seasonal crudité).
My main, the SPICY AHI TUNA BURGER (quarter pound seared rare, teriyaki onions, shitake mushrooms, baby arugula, spicy miso aioli) was also really good.
It was a pleasure to try a new place with a dear friend.
