Visiting Watkins Glen State Park in autumn is a breathtaking experience that left me in awe of the stunning landscape and vibrant fall foliage. Even driving there, from Hudson Valley, made me want to stop and photograph everything in my sight.
Before I entered Watkins Glen State Park, I stopped by Shequaga Falls Park. This was a great introduction to what was to come.



Arriving at Watkins Glen in the early afternoon … I can honestly say that I wasn’t ready for how absolutely gorgeous my time would be.
Searching the internet for sample photos is one thing. Being in the presence of such beauty – quite another.



As I walked along the iconic Gorge Trail, I was captivated by the sight of the majestic waterfalls cascading through the gorge. I was surrounded by trees adorned in brilliant shades of red, orange, and gold.
The sound of rushing water mixed with the crunch of fallen leaves underfoot created a serene atmosphere, inviting me to pause and take in the beauty all around. This – this – was what I flew to New England to photograph.
The combination of the rich colors of autumn and the dramatic rock formations made for a picturesque setting that felt like stepping into a postcard. It was surreal.



As I continued my hike, the sunlight filtering through the foliage illuminated the water’s surface, creating a shimmering effect that added to the park’s enchantment.




After my hike, I felt a deep sense of peace and connection to nature, surrounded by such breathtaking beauty.
Watkins Glen State Park in autumn truly showcases nature’s artistry. As I drove away from my experience, I felt extremely grateful for the opportunity of enjoying such tranquility amidst stunning scenery.
