The Restaurant at Auberge du Soleil

Lunch at The Restaurant at Auberge du Soleil was an incredible introduction to a wonderful weekend in wine country of Northern California.

Our first stop in Napa began at the Michelin started The Restaurant at Auberge du Soleil. Now, when Johann was excited about making this reservation, I had no idea what to expect. All I knew was that the menu looked delicious.

Auberge du Soleil is a luxury hotel located in Rutherford, California, in the Napa Valley region. It was founded in 1981 by Claude Rouas, an entrepreneur from France. The name “Auberge du Soleil” translates to “Inn of the Sun” in English.

The hotel’s restaurant, also named Auberge du Soleil, has earned acclaim for its cuisine, focusing on fresh, locally sourced ingredients and a menu influenced by both French and California culinary traditions.

Taking a sweeping view of the valley below us, we were both basking in the beauty of the energy of the area. Auberge du Soleil excels at offering patrons a serene and luxurious retreat in the heart of wine country. Immediately, I felt a sense of home away from home – and hungry.

We started the meal with a DOZEN OYSTERS with POME FRITES with lemon aloli.

I continued with MARGARITA PIZZA with pepperoni and prosciutto. This was decadent.

Johann allowed me to taste his HOUSE MADE CAMPANELLE (spicy sausage, pickled peppers, tomato, pecorino).

All of this was absolutely incredible. I can truly see why Auberge du Soleil continues to be a premier destination in Napa Valley, attracting guests with its beautiful setting and gourmet dining experiences.

The perfect start to an amazing weekend in Napa Valley.
