Arriving at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport after my short flight from Albany, New York, there was only one thing on my mind: a Maryland style crab cake.
After walking by my gate to get a visual, I asked one of the gate agents for the best seafood restaurant she could recommend in the gate area. Immediately, she pointed down the way and said that R & R Seafood Bar would fit the bill.
I walked down and immediately found an open seat. I immediately realized that I did not realize how hungry I was, due to the stress of driving in the snow and having to reschedule my flight for the next one out.
I immediately ordered the SAGAMORE MANHATTAN (Maryland’s Sagamore Spirit Rye with sweet vermouth and bitters, with a maraschino cherry. A classic drink with a local spin)
Then it was time for what I came for: the OBRYCKI’S FAMOUS CRAB CAKE (A Baltimore tradition since 1944. Made with the freshest jumbo lump crab meat. Served broiled, with cocktail and tartar sauce).
For $1 more than my original choice, I ordered the single crab cake entrée served with saltine crackers. potato chips and a side Caesar salad.
I ate it all. It was absolutely delicious. And I finished right when it was time for me to board my flight.
