After a week in Montenegro, Park Hyatt Istanbul – Macaka Palas in Istanbul was a truly welcomed space of refined relaxation.
After a week in Montenegro (Dive Into The Depth Of Your Being: Montenegro Yoga Retreat at Mahakala Retreat), I was extremely happy that I booked the Park Hyatt Istanbul – Macaka Palas for my overnight layover in Istanbul.
Arriving in Istanbul felt like I was arriving home. Needless to say, I’d been there a week ago and I wanted to see more. So, securing my transportation from the airport to the hotel, I set my sights on checking in.

As my specific room needed to be readied, I waited while dining at the hotel’s lobby restaurant, Turquoz. Soon after I was done with my meal, my room was ready.
When I entered, I was floored. It was even more beautiful than I expected. My welcome gifts of the usual welcome letter and Turkish delights, fruits and nuts spoke of the rich history and culture of Turkish hospitality.

When booking, I’d requested a nice room with a beautiful view. Happily, that is exactly what I received. My wonderful view of the street was high enough to see a sliver of the Bosphorus. My terrance was decorated beautifully, with a bright red flowers along the ledge’s edge.
It felt like I was in Paris, France while in Istanbul.

My private ensuite hammam was also incredible.
I was able to utilize the pipping hot steam shower and then soak in the luxurious bubble bath with ease.

But, what really made me happy?
My en suite massage, with the background music being my own playlist, played through the television.

For dinner, I made reservations at Nusr-Et Macka Palas. In this case, I should have trusted Alice’s opinion and chosen another place. But, I was curious, it was convenient and – my body later paid the price.
In the morning, the hotel was kind enough to pack me a to go breakfast, that I could enjoy on my way to the airport.
It was a perfect end to such a beautiful stay.
