Matu

Dinner at Matu served me the best steak tartare I've ever had - amid other outstanding modern steakhouse selections - in Beverly Hills, California

It had been much, much, MUCH too long since I’d seen Amanda for dinner. So for DineLA, it was only natural that we pick a place with a great vibe, great location and most of all – a reputation for great food.

Settling in, I was surprised about how relaxed the atmosphere at Matu was. It felt like a casual upscale restaurant – in the heart of Beverly Hills. There was no pretentiousness anywhere. Just anticipation for a night of delicious food and fun conversation.

With my drink menu in hand, I browsed the Cabernet & Merlot section. Intrigued, I ordered the 2019 MATU RESERVE  – a house private label from St Helena in Napa Valley. This glass of wine was delicious – with a rich, bold flavor that went well for the continuation of the meal.

Our first course from the Matu DineLA menu was the 24-HOUR BONE BROTH.

Next up, was the STEAK TARTARE with JAPANESE ACCENT. This was, hands down, the best steak tartare I’ve ever had. It was absolutely delicious.

Next up was the BEEF TENDERLOIN SATAY WITH “CRYING TIGER” SAUCE. This was – again – delicious.

The piece de resistance of the evening twas the 13 0Z RIBEYE and JAPANESE CAESAR, which we joyfully shared together.

Unable to decide between the outstanding dessert choices, we ordered the CHOCOLATE CAKE and ARTURO’S PANNA COTTA. The ways my tongue delighted around my spoon was carnal.

Dinner at Matu steakhouse was truly time well invested – filled with delicious wine, a space for lively conversation and above all outstanding food – in Beverly Hills.
