Haunted Hamburger restaurant was a surprisingly fantastic spot for dinner, outside of Prescott, in Jerome, Arizona
Ending an extensive roadtrip that saw me celebrate a cousin’s wedding in Laughlin, Nevada; photographing Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah; and Marble Canyon and the Colorado Plateau in Arizona, I found myself in a hotel in Prescott, resting before driving back to Los Angeles the next day.
Honestly, everything in Prescott looked under par. So after a curvy drive up the side of a mountain in fog, I ended up in Jerome at Haunted Hamburger.
What’s wild is that I did not, in any way shape or form, expect the food at Haunted Hamburger to be as delicious as it was.
I order a serving of the DEEP FRIED PICKLES (beer battered served with chipotle ranch), followed by the SOUTHWEST SOURDOUGH BURGER (Bacon, pepper jack, green chilies, grilled onions, & guacamole)
It was great – and started an obsession to try and duplicate the delicious fried pickles I enjoyed at Haunted Hamburger, back home in Los Angeles.
Sadly, I just couldn’t duplicate it. They were THAT good.
Dinner at Haunted Hamburger was delicious. And the leftovers made the perfect breakfast the next day on my drive from Prescott, Arizona to Los Angeles, California.
