Gracias Madre

Drinks and desert at Gracias Madre was the perfect end to a rather interesting evening in West Hollywood

After a trash experience of lapses in service at neighboring restaurant Great White Melrose, Ted and I were in desperate need for a pick me up to save the night. So, I suggested we have dessert at Gracias Madre.

Taking a seat at the bar, I immediately felt sense of release and relief. It felt so good to clean the previous experiences of dinner from our mind and enjoy something new.

Chandler, our bartender for the evening, listened to us and empathized. We conversed about the challenges between serving and being a server, and the respect that’s assumed between the exchange.

Feeling like a weight was taken off my spirit and happy again,  I ordered the NOLONCHE (hibiscus, prickly pear, lime). Ted and I split the CHURROS (cinnamon, sugar, housemade dulce de leche, vanilla gelato, fresh berries).

Both were delicious. But, I think what made the Nolonche so cool and refreshing and the churros so good was the change in scenery and vibe. The right service really does complete a meal.

Now, I’ve previously been to Gracias Madre various times before. Every time has been outstanding. It’s high quality vegetarian food, crafted with great ingredients in a smartly designed space.

With good food, great drinks and great service -what more can you ask for in West Hollywood?
