Relaxing with a light snack and cocktail at the Clover Club was a wonderful stop during my museum filled afternoon in Brooklyn, New York
Sometimes, you never know where your next best friendship or conversation will come from. I first met James and his partner at the rooftop pool of the Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs, while on a weekend trip to Palm Springs, California.
Fast forward a year or two later, and I found myself texted him on where his favorite place for happy hour snack was in Brooklyn.
I love it when that happens!
After a truly beautiful time at The Book of HOV at the Brooklyn Library and the Spike Lee Retrospective at the Brooklyn Museum, I was truly in need of food and a place to relax. A quick Uber ride later and I was on Smith Street in Brooklyn.
To start, I ordered the MARY READ (Bajan & Guyanese rums, Cognac, Montenegro amaro, passiontruit, lemon) for a drink.
For food, I ordered the BUTTERMILK FLATBREAD “HAND”WICHES (Two handwiches, served with crisps).
I picked two different ones to try: the FRIED CHICKEN (spicy slaw, togarashi) and the GRILLED STEAK (aged cheddar and horseradish).
The handwhiches were delicious and loaded. Sipping the cocktail, I was in a sublime sense of pleasure.
Sitting at the window, I basked in the moment and time of Brooklyn, New York.
