Lunch at Sweet Chick in Brooklyn gave me one of the best chicken and waffles combo I've had in New York
After finishing up a few hours at Bathhouse Williamsburg, I decided to meander around Brooklyn and cheer on the runners of the New York Marathon.
My friend Jessica mentioned to me that when she watches marathon runners, she gets caught up in emotion. While watching the runners and the creative signs that lined the route, I thought of another college friend, Angie, who’d recently ran the Portugal Marathon.
I couldn’t help but imagine that I was cheering on people like her, as the focused and dedicated runners past by me.
Walking down the street, I peeked through the crowds to cheer and clap for the runners. The energy of the marathon truly brought out the best of New York.
But, after a morning at the spa and cheering on runners, it was soon time to eat. Luckily, Sweet Chick on Bedford was literally right next tom e, as I stopped and searched for places to eat.
Immediately upon entering Sweet Chick, I felt comforted by the ambiance and vibe. It was exactly what I wanted.
I ordered the PEACH LEMONADE with the CLASSIC CHICKEN & WAFFLES (2pc. bone-in tenders with a classic Belgian waffle with a signature butter).
For my waffle, I chose the special of the day – the PUMPKIN PIE WAFFLE with the chipotle honey sauce for the chicken.
In short, my late lunch was absolutely delicious. It was the best chicken and waffle combo that I could have asked for.
