Cafe 222

Cafe 222 in San Diego is a beloved spot for breakfast and brunch, serving dishes like their famous peanut butter and banana stuffed French toast in a cozy, friendly atmosphere

Waking up in San Diego, fully immersed in mini-vacation mode, is a luxury in itself. Nestled in the comfortable bedding at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, I lingered a little longer than I would at home in bed. It was a pleasure to gaze at the cloud-filled sky over Coronado Bay.

In those quiet moments, I savored the rare tranquility – no eager pets nudging me awake for breakfast, just the soft hum of the city below as I felt a deep sense of blissful stillness.

Before long, it was time to set the day in motion. I met some friends, Café 222, a solid local spot known for its long lines.

Fortunately, our timing was extremely good, and we only waited briefly before being seated. With an active day ahead – including biking along the scenic paths of Coronado Island, – I opted for a meal that would fuel me rather than lull me into a carb-induced haze.

After browsing the menu, I decided on a simple yet satisfying combination. I settled on two side dishes to make a whole breakfast: the TOAST and the CORNED BEER HASH, along with – of course – COFFEE.

The meal was as delightful as the conversation, a vibrant exchange of witty banter and laughter that set the perfect tone for the day. Truly Cafe 222 is a breakfast spot that delivered both flavor and fun – the perfect start to a morning in San Diego.
