The Lion’s Share

The Lion's Share in San Diego offers creative cocktails and an eclectic menu in an intimate setting

A few months back, Hilary excitedly texted me that she’d experienced happy hour cocktails and bites at an incredible spot in San Diego. When I inquired about where, she enthusiastically gushed about The Lion’s Share. So, when it was time for me to plan a trip down south, I considered it a no brainer to make reservations at The Lion’s Share for dinner.

When my friend and I walked in, I was immediately taken by how utterly cool the restaurant was. The space was adorned with eclectic, thought-provoking artwork, and the design was both striking and intimate. Truly, it was a setting that hinted at the exceptional experience ahead. I mean, if the atmosphere was this impressive, I knew the food had to be just as good.

I began the evening with the BLACK MAGIC WOMAN (Black Cow vodka, Blackstrap rum, Black Mountain amaro, Mr Black Coffee Liqueur, black cherry, orange & mole bitters). Every sip was rich, complex, and utterly indulgent.

For my entrée, I opted for the WAGYU STEAK FRITES (miso bordelaise, chimichurri butter).

There’s something undeniably satisfying about a perfect steak paired with crisp fries and a well-balanced cocktail. It’s the elevated comfort food that I love – reminiscent of a Parisian bistro, without the transatlantic flight.

After dinner, I couldn’t text Hilary fast enough to rave about her impeccable recommendation. The Lion’s Share was a spectacular prelude to a night of cocktails at Youngblood, and without a doubt, a must-visit for any discerning diner in San Diego.
