Touring the Borghese Gallery and Museum and then taking a tour of the grounds in a golf cart was the perfect Roman outing
Strike it as fate – but, the location of The Hoxton Rome was within walking distance of the Borghese Gardens and Gallery. We pre planning, Katharine stated that it was her top priority to see in Rome. So naturally, I found a tour that was a skip the line tour with a golf cart tour of the gardens on Tiquts.
I must say, it was a pleasure to walk from the hotel to the Borghese Gallery. The Galleries themselves? The rooms were spectacular.
Additionally, the actual galleries were smaller than I expected. You walk to the top level and tour a few rooms. Then, decent to the floor levels and walk through a few more. It’s very straightforward.
While waiting for the golf cart tour, I got a light snack from the cafe, Molto. The BAGUETTE CRUDO WITH MOZZARELLA CHEESE was so simple and delicious. Of course, with quality ingredients, the simplest of included ingredients can create incredible flavors.
After my midday snack, we ventured out to meet our golf cart. The tour of the gardens was perfect. A Segway tour simply would not have been as relaxing and information filled. Plus, it was hot AF. Being driven around the gardens in a golf cart was simply the best way to see the gardens.
Our driver – who was also our guide – gave us the best information about the history and lore of the grounds.
Money well spent.
