It's not everyday that I find myself at The Charter Hotel Seattle, Curio Collection By Hilton, without a change of shoes or my pair of sunglasses that I specifically tried to remember to bring before I left the house. With that, it's not everyday that I'm able to walk from my hotel to the Nordstrom flagship store in Downtown Seattle and buy sandals that I've been in dire need of doing. But - what does seem to happen almost daily now are fantastic recommendations that I receive in the most random of places and spaces. In this case, I asked Kai, my fantastic shoe salesman, if he had any recommendations for great places for dinner in Seattle. Because I'd already dined at Canlis, The Butcher's Table, Shiro's Sushi, Ivar's Salmon House, and Umi Sake House during previous visits, I wanted something - different.

Now, what makes this Nordstrom different from others in the US is the concierge. When I asked Kai the question, the Nordstrom concierge heard and came over and participated in the conversation as well. I was recommended Fat’s Chicken and Waffles and S/T Hooligans. And since Fat’s was closed on the day I was planing on dining, I chose S/T Hooligans.

After a deliciously late check out at 1 Hotel Seattle, then a fun time photographing the Roozengaarde Tulip Fields, I was more than ready for a delicious dinner.

I settled in with a pint of SEAPINE Brewery’s “Rainbow Suspenders” (DIPA 8.4% -SODO, Seattle) to relax into dinner with.

I ordered the Awesome Original Plate (3 piece thigh, drumstick, boneless breast w/ island mac salad, creamy slaw, spicy honey on the side). I was very grateful that I was able to switch out the macaroni salad for an order of the fries.

Alongside the Hooliglaze (Mild-Moderate Seattle Spicy) with Caribbean Jerk Glaze (sweet-tangy-spicy jerk glaze) – and it was a dinner made in culinary heaven. Well worth the extra $1.10 for the two sauces.

The chicken batter was filled my nose and mouth with deliciousness. I felt like I tasted the flavor with my nose first – without even taking my first bite. It was that powerful.

There is no other place I’d rather be than watching the latest episode of Euphoria, seated comfortably at a table at S/T Hooligans.

Completely unbothered.

Staying in my own, blissful lane.
