My trip to Seattle was scheduled to be filled with fresh air, ferry rides, tulips and great food. But, what I didn’t expect is to find a newly opened 1 Hotel Seattle, exactly where I wanted to stay in Downtown Seattle. As the 1 Hotel brand is one of my favorite properties under the Starwood umbrella, I immediately knew that I needed one night of pure relaxation and coming back into myself.
Checking around, I found a seemingly impossible rate: late check out until 2pm, with house spending credit and valet parking included in the rate. I booked it and relaxed into a sensation of pure pleasure, as I looked forward to my upcoming trip to the Emerald City.
Check In
Returning back to Seattle from my Day Trip: FRS Clipper Ferry from Seattle to Victoria, British Columbia experience left me thoroughly worn out. Nearly three hours of rolling waves and conversations pitched at full volume had quietly hollowed me out by the time I stepped off. Climbing out of my Lyft in front of 1 Hotel Seattle, I felt every bit of it.

My check-in host was a bright spot in an otherwise draining afternoon. While confirming my rate and stay details, I asked whether she could convert my unused valet parking into a hotel spending credit. She obliged – a small gesture that lifted my mood considerably as I rode the elevator up to my room.
Room + Stay
Stepping into room 801 was an immediate reminder of everything I love about 1 Hotels. The space was tastefully designed: light-filled, comfortable, and thoughtfully put together in that understated way the brand does so well. A small sign read Welcome Home, and honestly, that’s precisely how it felt.

One thing I noticed, similar to my experience at 1 Hotel Nashville, was the absence of in-room slippers. A minor thing, easily solved. I pulled up the television order system and requested a pair along with a few other items. Within 30 minutes, a staff member arrived at my door with everything neatly arranged in a basket. Unhurried, thoughtful, effortless. That's relaxed luxury.

The bathroom deserves its own mention. Like the rest of the suite, it was clean, well-appointed, and carried that same quiet elegance that defines the 1 Hotels aesthetic.
After the physical and mental toll of the day’s adventures, sinking into a hot bubble bath felt less like a luxury and more like a necessity. I let the water run warm, watched the bubbles build, and slowly lowered myself in. The day fell away.

There’s something almost ceremonial about a proper bath when you genuinely need one, and this was exactly that. It didn’t just relax my muscles – it felt like it reached something deeper, some part of me that had been clenched for months, and finally gave it permission to let go.
Dinner at La Loba (La Loba at 1 Hotel Seattle) was wonderful, and breakfast at Drift (Drift Bar & Lounge at 1 Hotel Seattle) the following morning was nothing short of top tier. At both, the staff struck the right balance – attentive without hovering, friendly without being performative, and genuinely knowledgeable about what they were serving.

Overall
For the first time – in a very long time – I felt a sense of relaxation and peace with where my life was. In my suite at 1 Hotel Seattle, I cried, I broke through and I found myself again.

That is the definition of true luxury: finding yourself at home, wherever you are.

Plus, I was able to be driven in the 1 Hotel house car to my car rental at the Space Needle the next day.

I look forward to the next time I’m at 1 Hotel Seattle.
