Day Trip: FRS Clipper Ferry from Seattle to Victoria, British Columbia

Clipper Vacations offers a high-speed passenger ferry from Seattle’s Pier 69 to Victoria’s Inner Harbour, highlighted with scenic Puget Sound views

During a previous trip to Seattle with my mother, I planned a fun day for us to take the ferry to Victoria, British Columbia. However, like most mother daughter trips, it was only a matter of time before we started fighting. So, in order to replace those experiences with new, more modern reference points (especially, after my experience in Montreal, Quebec a few months prior), I decided to plan a new trip to Victoria in British Columbia Canada.

After checking out of The Charter Hotel Seattle, Curio Collection By Hilton, I took at Lyft to Pier 69.

Checking in for my trip to Vancouver Island was easy. As I still had some time before the ferry was scheduled to depart from Seattle, I walked over to 70 and Sunny Coffee Co. Walking back, it was easy to board the ferry and find my seat upstairs.

The sail was smooth. Before I knew it, we were docking on Vancouver Island.

After a lovely time at The Butchart Gardens and lunch at Red Fish Blue Fish, it was time to head back to Seattle.

The ride back was just as smooth as the ride over. Before I knew it, we were docked, passed passport check and I was in my Lyft on the way to 1 Hotel Seattle.

Now, I will say this – I think the FRS Clipper website works on dynamic pricing. So, I would HIGHLY suggest searching and booking from a private window and also searching for a coupon code. After I booked, they sent me a 10% off coupon for a next trip. Which, for how much I ended up paying for the trip and tour – along with a fuel surcharge – was diabolical.

Still – it was a good trip and something that I specifically planned my trip around.
