Fog Room at The Charter Hotel Seattle

Perched above downtown Seattle, Fog Room offers crafted cocktails, curated small plates, and sweeping views of the city skyline and Puget Sound

Settling in to my room at The Charter Hotel Seattle, Curio Collection By Hilton, I knew that there was only one way that I wanted to end the night: at the hotel's rooftop cocktail bar - the Fog Room. As I loved the stay and view from a former stay at Thompson Seattle and their rooftop bar, The Nest, as the Charter Hotel Seattle was only a block away - I knew the view was going to be spectacular.

After checking it out before my light dinner downstairs at Cinder + Salt at The Charter Hotel Seattle, I returned for a session of reading, texting on my phone and enjoying cocktails.

The views from the rooftop were incredible. I loved the 180 degree of the space. It felt expansive.

However, due to the loud conversations from a larger party, I decided to head inside. I love it when people are having a good time. On the other hand, I don’t like hearing other people’s conversations while I’m reading a book. I get more caught up in their story, vs mine.

The Undead gentleman (Appleton estate, Hamilton 151, velvet falernum, pamplemousse, all spice dram, lime, demi, ango, absinthe rinse, grapefruit oil) was absolutely solid. Honestly, this is more than likely the best drink on the cocktail menu. It was everything.

My second drink, the Fire on the Farm (High West Campfire, Pikesville Rye, Alpeggio Hay, thyme demi, lapsang tea, tobacco bitters-smoked) cocktail, was fine. I wanted it served straight up because I have been very specific about excessive ice used in cocktails.

I appreciated the smoked cocktail effect – and the drink was indeed fun. But, if I could reorder, I would get the Undead Gentleman again. It was simply a perfect drink served in the perfect glass. Which doesn’t mean that Fire on the Farm wasn’t good. Just means that Undead Gentleman was better.

Overall, my time at the Fog Room at The Charter Hotel Seattle was solid. It was the perfect spot to watch the sun set over Puget Sound and enjoy a bit of time to myself after a heavy day of travel from Los Angeles to Seattle.
