Lunch at 45 Grill & Health offered me life giving views of Lake Geneva while enjoying mouth watering cuisine and wine of the region
The first thing that visually overwhelms you upon entering 45 Grill & Health, at the Grand Hotel Suisse Majestic, Autograph Collection, is the panorama view of Lake Geneva and the French Alps through the floor to ceiling windows. It visually hits you in the face in such a brilliantly beautiful and well designed way. All I could say was “WOW, before a host led me to my table for lunch.
After browsing the menu, I knew that I wanted something delicious – but light. A glass of wine was a must, of course. So, I ordered the Villeneuve Les Terreaux 2019, a Pinot Noir by Grognuz Frères & Fils Winery, sourced in the Vaud Region (Western Switzerland bordered by Lake Geneva to the south and France to the west).
For lunch, I ordered the BEEF FILET 120 gram, with FRENCH FRIES and BEARNAISE sauce to compliment. The filet of beef was cooked to medium rare perfection. The béarnaise sauce elevated the dish to a classical French lunch.
It was – surreal. Simply visually incredible and surreal.
As the effects of the day’s rainstorm moved across Lake Geneva, I was transfixed by the French Alps before me. It was incredible to me that I was sitting in Switzerland, looking at France.
But yes, I damn well was.
Enjoying every bite, sip and minute of it.
