The Golden Mill in Golden, Colorado, is a lively food hall featuring a variety of local eateries, craft beer, and self-serve taps.
After enjoying river tubing on Clear Creek river with Adventure West, it was time for Rosemary and I to relax and enjoy a few hours of the afternoon with a view beers and a good lunch at The Golden Mill.
I’d first noticed The Golden Mill as we passed it while floating down the river. It looked like an expansive space that seemed like a lively, fun spot to stay for a while. So, once we’d finished our two floats, we changed clothes and made our way over.
Now, one of the most interesting things about The Golden Mill is the payment set up. Once we arrived at the host station, we were asked for a form of payment and our IDs were checked to confirmed we were over 21 (ha!). Then, the host swiped our forms of payment and handed us each Golden Mill usage cards. This is what you use to tap and pay for your food and dining options. At the end of your stay, you drop the card off at the return box and you are sent a text message with the itemized bill a few hours later.

When I first saw the drink taps, I immediately LOVED the set up. You could pour as little or as much as you wanted of a particular drink. And, as it was a food hall similar to Avanti F&B, there was a lot to choose from.

From the taps, I tried the: Belgian White Nitro by Left Hand Brewing Company; the Cali Squeeze Blood Orange Hefeweizen by Firestone Walker Brewing Company; Smooth Jazz Berry Sour by Crooked Stave; Tree Line by Beer Tree Brew.
Walking around the restaurant stalls, I ordered the 6″ QUESADILLA (Flour, Meat: Cochinita Pibil) from Tacos Al Chile and the TIGER ROLL from Sushi Sora.
One of the best parts of lunch? Watching people float down the river in the most unique of ways.

As we ate our food and relaxed outside on the balcony, overlooking the Clear Creek river, it was a beautiful time of enjoying the peaceful moments of summer in Golden, Colorado.
