Nosu Ramen

Nosu Ramen in Golden, Colorado, is a popular spot for flavorful ramen dishes served in a casual, welcoming environment.

In picking a place to eat dinner, I did not expect to land on a ramen joint in Golden, Colorado of all places. However, I’d found an outstanding sushi and great oyster spot in Aspen. So, looking for spots close to The Dove Inn, Nosu Ramen was a surprise delight.

Settling in and meeting my outstanding waitress, Scottie, I felt like I found a little piece of Los Angeles flavor in Colorado.

After first picking a table inside, I moved outside to enjoy the night air. Soon, the PAPER PLANE cocktail (whiskey, Aperol, amaro, lemon) arrived at my table. With a paper airplane!

If ever there was a spark of love at first sight and taste of a cocktail, this was it. My cocktail was a sensual delight. Plus, again – THEY SERVED IT WITH A LITTLE PAPER AIRPLANE! It’s the details, really.

The PORK SOUP DUMPLINGS (sesame black vinegar) were delicious.

The PORK BELLY RAMEN (bok choy, pickled beech mushroom, corn, poached egg, chili oil) was so good, I devoured it. The pork belly itself was done so well, I wanted to order another side of it to enjoy.

I did order a JAPANESE HIGHBALL (whiskey). But, would have been better served ordering another Paper Plane.

Plus, what I loved the most about my time at Nosu is how friendly Scottie was. She answered all my questions about getting to and from Red Rocks Amphitheatre and made my time at Nosu Ramen a pleasure.

As I walked back to The Dove Inn, I realized that it’s the simple happiness of connecting to another human being in kindness that makes the world a better place. Along with great food? Yes please. Nosu Ramen was a perfect night out for a casual time in Golden, Colorado.
