Higher Grounds Cafe

Higher Grounds Cafe in Golden, Colorado, is a cozy, community-focused coffee shop known for its welcoming atmosphere and excellent coffee.

After a fantastic previous night at Red Rocks Amphitheater, listening to Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats under a full moon – I allowed myself the grace of sleeping in a bit, in my room at The Dove Inn.

After packing, moving my rental from the Golden downtown parking lot to 14th Street and loading my luggage, I was ready for my next adventure: breakfast.

Luckily, Higher Grounds Cafe was a short, walkable block away.

Surveying the community coffee spot, I immediately appreciated the student haven Higher Grounds cafe must be during study time. Similar to my experience at Cafe 13, it just felt like a nice spot to spend some time in.

Plus, it was when I saw the coffee bag from Kauai Coffee Company that I knew I was in for a high quality cup of delicious coffee.

After some small talk, I ordered the BREWED COFFEE (Rainforest blend)  with the EVERYTHING BAGEL W/CREAM CHEESE and a side of BACON. Making my way outside to the patio, I felt the vibes of the Colorado sun radiate on my skin as I relaxed into the morning.

The life of Golden passed me by as I savored my breakfast. It was exactly what I wanted – a sense of comfort and satisfaction – before heading to Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs.
