Sushi Nikkei

Sushi Nikkei offers Peruvian infused sushi cuisine, close to the beach, in Long Beach, California

After visiting Rosie’s Dog Beach in Long Beach with the dog, it was time for dinner. As, I’d remembered my great time at Poke Pola, we made our way there.

While walking down 2nd Street, I suddenly stopped next to Poke Poka.

Peruvian inspired sushi? Sure!

First out was the SPICY EDAMAME (Sautéed with garlic and chili), followed closely by the TUNA TACOS (Bluefin Tuna, Avocado, Kiuri, Sprouts, Asian Sauce).

Next, was the ACEBICHADO (Crispy shrimp, avocado topped with tuna, acebichado sauce, togarashi, green onion) and OBA ROLL (Crispy salmon, avocado topped with salmon, parrillera, jalapeno sauce, chalaquita).  Then, with the HOTTUNA (Spicy bluefin tuna, avocado, cucumber in soy paper), we thought we were done.

Nope. It was so good that we wanted more.

Hungry for more, we ordered the ASIAN SHIROMI (White Fish, asian sauce, quinoa pop, lemon), was simple and beautiful. Next out came the CHILL MAKI (Crispy tempura roll with avocado, shrimp, chill sauce, lemon), with the CREAMY (Crispy tempura roll with avocado, salmon, smoky sauce, crunchy skin, tare) soon after.

Everything was absolutely delicious. However, the must get roll above all else is the Oba Roll. That was *chef’s kiss* perfection.

Plus, finishing things up with a HOT GREEN TEA was exactly what I needed to start processing what we witnessed happen at the dog beach, a few hours earlier.

Dinner at Sushi Nikkei truly hit the spot for distinct taste and unique sushi in Long Beach.
