feast & floret

Feast & Floret in Hudson, New York, is a charming restaurant celebrated for its Italian-inspired, farm-to-table dishes and cozy, flower-filled ambiance.

After settling in to my room at The Maker Hotel, it was time to go for a walk. Speaking with the hotel concierge, Johnathon, about the best walkable place for dinner, he immediately suggested feast & floret. So, after realizing that the reservation app they use wasn’t allowing additional reservations for the evening, I set myself out to go for a walk.

Walking to feast & floret from The Maker Hotel was exceptionally easy. As instructed, I exchanged pleasantries with the host, Jason, and told him that Johnathon had highly recommended the restaurant and suggested that I come in person, since I couldn’t get a reservation on Resy. He greeted me with a warm smile and said that he would make room for me, once I returned for dinner.

Those are the words I love to hear.

Later in the evening, after a pre dinner cocktail and conversation with the bartender and staff at The Maker Lounge, I returned to feast & floret. Jason immediately recognized me and within 5 minutes, I had a table outside.

The heat lamp roared as I snuggled in my coat. I browsed the menu and developed a vision for my courses.

I started with the GRILLED FLATBREAD (ricotta & farm honey).

I chose the ricotta and farm honey rather than the olive tapenade. Usually, I immediately go to a tapenade. But, based on my server’s recommendation, I wanted to try the restaurant’s honey, harvested from their farm. It was light and tasty. And, I’m glad that I tried something new.

The wait for my pasta was a bit longer than I expected. The cold air began to sink in and I got a bit colder than I anticipated. So, I requested to change tables.

As I walked and crossed the street back to The Maker Hotel, a sense of contentment washed over me. I was filled with gratitude for the evening’s delicious experiences.

My first night out in Hudson had been a perfect blend of delicious food, cozy ambiance, and the charm of this historic town, leaving me deeply appreciative of every moment and already eager to explore more of Hudson Valley, the next day.
