Maialino

The now closed Maialino was a perfect place to meet a dear friend for a delicious Italian meal and conversation in Union Square, New York

There was one thing I wanted to do in my night in New York before attending a real estate conference in Connecticut: have dinner with my sorority sister, Amy.

After arriving to New York and checking in to my hotel, I met Amy in the Flat Iron district.

A few minutes later, we were seated at our table at Maialino.

We started with an order of the GATEKEEPER CHEESE (Old Chatham Creamery, Hudson Valley, NY via Crown Finish Caves, NY – Wash-rind Sheep and Cow Milk and Cream). This came out with some lovely whole grain crackers.

Next up was the PROSCIUTTO DI PARMA. This was a lovely dish filled with my favorite thing: shaved cured prosciutto. It was melt in your mouth deliciousness.

For my main course, I savored the TAGLIOLINI (Squid Ink Pasta, Crab, Chili & Basil). It was perfect.

To finish up, we got gelato for dessert at Eataly NYC Flat Iron.

Overall, it was a lovely dinner.  I truly hope Maialino returns to the New York cuisine circuit.
