Exploring Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area

An afternoon exploring and photographing the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area was the perfect way to experience beauty off the Las Vegas Strip

There is so much to do outside of gambling and off the strip. During a previous trip, where I went kayaking  on Lake Mohave at Willow Beach, I also visited Red Rock Canyon during sunset. This time, I found it just as captivating.

As it was my second time, I had more of a focus of what shots I was looking for. I revisited Calico Hills 1 trailhead. But, I spent the majority of my time at the highest point of the Scenic Loop Drive. The views of the sunset were brilliant.

I spent some time driving back to the entrance, meandering and photographing points that struck me with awe.

Previously – After kayaking Lake Mohave at Willow Beach the previous day, I was eager to continue to explore life off The Strip. When a realtor friend suggested Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area as a great place to bike and explore, I knew that I wanted to visit with my camera in tow.

For this visit, I opted not to bike alone. Instead, I drove and brought along my camera.

Driving the scenic route was beautiful. It was a pleasure to partake in the beauty of the vistas and canyons around me.

With the perfect ending to the day being dinner at Best Friend, back at Park MGM.
