Kayaking Lake Mohave at Willow Beach was a peaceful way to discover a new, expansive landscape - just outside of Las Vegas - in White Hills, Arizona
After a outstanding night of seeing Lady Gaga perform jazz standards at Park MGM as well as a less than stellar stay at Crockfords Las Vegas (that I later got completely comp’d due to the excessive noise from inconsiderate Electric Daisy Carnival attendees that were partying next door to my room), I was more than happy to enjoy the morning sunrise and complimentary room service breakfast.
Even better? Heading out to Willow Beach to meet Leanne and her friend for kayaking.
The drive out was lovely. The scenic byway of Nevada blended into Arizona seamlessly. After pumping up my kayak, we took photos and gauged our best entry into the lake.
Then, we were off.
The visual expansive nature of the canyons and environment was picturesque.
The rhythmic motion of my paddle provided a soothing and meditative experience, while the gentle splash of the water enhanced my active meditation in the canyon.
Being on the water helped me view the diverse landscape – so close to Las Vegas – from a unique perspective.
The hours flew by in the quiet expanse of the water. That’s the power of kayaking. It offers a serene escape into nature, allowing you to glide across tranquil waters and immerse yourself in the beauty of your surroundings.
It made me so happy that I made the choice to invest in a kayak to explore the wondrous beauty of the river world.
