After renting bikes at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront and taking the ferry from the Convention Center to Coronado, we set off on a stunning 12-mile ride along the Bayshore Bikeway. With sweeping waterfront views and a cool coastal breeze, the route was the perfect balance of invigorating and scenic-an effortless way to experience the charm of Coronado on two wheels.

After our ride, the only thing on my mind was a well-earned lunch and a beer. We parked our bikes and made our way into Coronado Brewing Company.

Happy to rest, I eagerly browsed the menu. A hazy, hop-forward DREAMLAND (8.1% ABV – Hazy Double IPA) caught my eye. It was bold, dank, and exactly what I was craving.

For the table, we shared the BREWHOUSE PRETZEL (Giant Bavarian pretzel brushed with garlic butter and sea salt. With jalapeño beer cheese & house mustard). The pretzel was warm, soft, and perfectly salted, while the accompaniments added just the right amount of flavor.

For my main, I opted for the classic FISH & CHIPS (Beer-battered Alaskan cod over garlic fries with lemon, cocktail & tartar sauce). Each bite was perfection, satisfying in a way I hadn’t even realized I needed.

After lunch, we walked and then rode our bikes back to the ferry. As the afternoon sun cast a beautiful glow over the water, I tucked my new Coronado Brewing sticker into my bag. I truly felt a deep sense of gratitude for the day’s adventures.

San Diego’s coastal lifestyle had revealed its effortless luxury in the best way for me: bikes, beer and friends.
