Las Vegas has never been short on places to sleep, and I’ve worked my way through more than a few of them. Encore at the Wynn, Virgin Hotels, the Westin, Treasure Island, The Cosmopolitan, MGM Grand, Caesars Palace, Crockfords Las Vegas – LXR Hotels & Resorts, Mandalay Bay – and a couple of others I’ve genuinely lost to memory. For a long time I never felt compelled to write about any of it. Vegas hotels blur together after a while, each one a variation on the same theme of scale and spectacle.
But in trying to honestly document my experiences, leaving this chapter out would be a gap I couldn’t justify. I remember when you could get a weekday deal on a room for $30. Now, not so much.

Check In
I’d attempted the pre-arrival check-in process ahead of my stay specifically because Resorts World made it seem worth the effort. Somewhere in the middle of it, I lost interest and abandoned the whole thing. Since it was outside the Hilton app and took more than three clicks to do – I didn’t feel like doing it.
My flight from Los Angeles landed around noon. Since I was traveling without a check in bag, the transition from plane to Lyft to hotel was quick.
The Conrad Las Vegas side of Resorts World has a dedicated check-in line for Hilton Honors status holders, which I used to be through the check in process in under five minutes. Less than 15 minutes later I received a text: my room ready. I loaded my digital key into Apple Wallet, found the right elevator and was in my room at no time at all.

Room + Stay
What I’ve come to appreciate about Conrad properties - having stayed at Conrad Tokyo, Conrad Algrave, Conrad Punta de Mita, Conrad Tulum Maya Rivera, Conrad Maldives Rangali Island over the years - is their commitment to a sense of place through design. The details don’t feel generic. They nod to the location of the hotel, giving the room a design that a feels intentional - which instantly relaxes me.

The bathroom was comfortable, with a separate water closet for the toilet.

The shower was perfectly designed and the water was beautifully hot. Plus, it was perfect to stay in the same hotel that the event I was attending: Inside Robb Report’s March Madness Watch Party “Beyond the Madness” featuring NBA Legend James Worthy.
Overall
Overall, my stay at Conrad Las Vegas was better than my previous stay at Crockfords Las Vegas in the same Resorts World complex. I miss the time where hotels would have more single use products for guests – like toothbrushes, small lotions instead of the larger installed bits and the like. But just like the old prices for mid day deals, why waste time thinking about the past – when the now is what matters.
