Conrad Algrave provided a lovely night's stay in the picturesque area of the Algrave Coast in Faro, Portugal.
Landing at the Faro Airport from our flight from London, I was more than happy to quickly get our rental car from Hertz and start driving to the hotel for the night, the Conrad Algrave in Southern Portugal.
Immediately, I found driving in Faro easy and so refreshingly different than driving in the US. In short, driving from the airport to the Conrad Algarve was – actually – fun. The roads were easy to maneuver and the guidance was perfect to decipher. Plus, the Polestar electric vehicle I rented gave me easy to follow directions from the interface.
As I drove the short distance to the Conrad Algrave, I was immediately pleased with my choice of stay. The entrance to the hotel is long and grand. Once I entered the property, the self parking was easy to find.
Check In
Check in was relaxed. We were given our choice of water as I completed the process.
Stay
When I entered the room, I was impressed. For a room paid with Hilton points, I wasn’t that in need of a particular view. But, what I loved was the room itself. It was spacious, well designed and comfortable.
The shower was hot and delicious. Plus, I loved the assortment of Byredo perfumed items, scented in Mohave Ghost, that the Conrads have as their toiletries. The Conrad Tulum and Conrad Tokyo also had it, but I don’t remember if the Conrad Maldives had it as well.
However, I will say that the electrical outlets could be better placed around the hotel room. Also, it’s key to remember that hotels in Europe often have different voltages in the bathroom vs the main bedroom. So, don’t be surprised if – as in my experience – a portable battery takes longer to charger in the bathroom than in the main bedroom area.
With this all said, it was a well appointed, visually delicious designed room.
Pools & Gardens
I loved the little visual treats around the hotel. The gardens were expertly manicured and full of lush, blooming flowers. Also, it was awesome to see a hawk with its handler during my early morning stroll of the grounds.
Dining
I loved dining at Louro for breakfast and dinner. The view from our table for dinner, across the pool and into the horizon, was stunningly beautiful.
Overall
Overall, my stay at the Conrad Algrave was the perfect point to rest from travel and to take in the Algarve coast of Portugal.
