Lunch at Bistrot du Monde was a delicious testimony of how beautiful life with wine and pasta can be - in Taormina, Italy.
Desiring a spot for lunch, I reviewed my options. I thought about Wunderbar, but wasn’t pulled into the menu. I walked down Via Naumachia to the highly recommended OSTERIA DA RITA. But, I arrived one table too late for lunch service. So, I walked a feet over to Bistrot du Monde, browsed the menu and took a seat.
Now, I need to say, lunch at Bistrot du Monde was everything I desired and more.
Once I settled in, I order the TARTARE DI TONNO (Tuna tartare: tuna, extra virgin olive oil, capers, green pepper) and a glass of the 2021 BARONE DI VILLAGRANDE WINERY’S ETNA ROSATO. The beauty of the rose wine was literally perfect. Wines made from grapes produced from the Mt. Etna volcano DOC are distinct and pronounced in taste.
For my main lunch course, I devoured the TAGLIOLINI DI FARINA DI CARRUBA ALL’ASTICE (pasta di carrubba, lobster, parsley, cherry tomatoes, garlic, pepper, lobster butter).
Not even a tomato was left on the plate.
It was delicious.
