Apiary Beverage Co. Taproom serves up easy drinking mead, koumbacha and ciders in Carpinteria, California

After a rather amusing day of trying to figure out how to bike with my new puppy (Note, not all bikes are meant to have a dog stroller attachment), Leanne and I decided to call an audible, pivot in our intention and head to Apiary Beverage Co.’s taproom.

Now, there is a special place in my heart for places that offer suitable vibes and water bowls for puppies.

Especially, happy, rambunctious labradors.

The vibes at Apiary Beverage Co’s taproom and the right mix of coastal mixed with and modern chill. I ordered a tasting flight of:

LADY IN THE MOON (2% Jun Kombucha with organic honey, raspberry leaf, nettle, damiana, ladies mantle, orange blossom)

DRINK YOUR FLOWERS (6% abv. Rose, hibiscus & lavender)

GOLD RUSH (7% abv. Classic mead with clover honey and organic vanilla)

DARKEST FLOWER (7% abv. Single variety mead with 100% Avocado blossom honey )

SELF CARE (6% abv. Organic crimson gold apples with elderflower, orange blossom and sage)

PIXIE CUT (8% abv. Cider and mead blend made from orange blossom honey and fuji apples with Ojai pixies oranges and schizandra berries)

In the same complex, Che Argentinian Empanadas was open and served up some delicious empanadas.

The pours were light, effervescent and refreshing. The empanadas were delicious.

On another trip up, I tried the following in a flight:

DARKEST FLOWER (7% abv. Single variety mead with 100% Avocado blossom honey )

GOLD RUSH (7% abv. Classic mead with clover honey and organic vanilla)

ELDERBERRY ECHINACEA (6% abv. Organic elderberry, echinacea root & herb)

JUN BLOOM (2% abv. Rose geranium, cardamom, & vanilla)

SUN FLOWER (8% abv. Orange blossom honey mead with a touch of jasmine flower infused honey added)

The best part?

We were so close to the Pacific Ocean that I could smell the salty air.
