There are some places that perfectly encapsulate the time, place and energy perfectly. My time at Bar Crenn was the relaxed refinement I craved after a long day.

After checking in with Oscar, he led me to a seat at the bar. This is my favorite place in a bar, as I love seeing how the magic is made.

I ordered the OUTLAW (Maraschino Luxardo, Punt E Mes, Tapatio Reposado Tequila – our signature take on the timeless Manhattan).

… to go along with the PARIS-BREST (Vanilla, Orange, Passion Fruit, Guava).

This. Was. Everything.
As I sat there, at Bar Crenn – with my Kindle – I felt myself relax from a rather long day. Being there, in the lively space of the Marina District – my life made sense.
Another detail that I appreciated about Bar Crenn are the details. The gorgeous and distinctive glassware. The details in the serving ware. Everything at Bar Crenn felt luxurious and comforting.
I watched Marcos make drinks after drink with skillful precision. His hands ran through drink orders and I marveled by how he kept every drink in order.
The INNA DA YARD (Suze, Orgeat, Lemon, Wray & Nephew Rum – Our take on a French Tiki) was refined and gorgeous.

I ended the evening on the RIO (Mandarin, Eucalyptus, Legendario Mezcal, Cynar, Campari – A Negroni reimagined through a Mexican lens). This was a delicious, sensual bitter drink.

Finishing the night, I asked Oscar about his favorite spots to visit in San Francisco. He immediately mentioned CocoBang, a Korean restaurant in the Union Square area of the city. I greatly appreciated his enthusiastic suggestions of what he loved about San Francisco.

Later, I messaged my friend Sonni that I wished she’d been there with me, to enjoy and appreciate such a refined and beautiful evening.

Truly, my time at Bar Crenn made me look forward to getting a reservation at Atelier Crenn during my next trip. Or Chef’s Crenn’s newest adventure – Monsieur Dior by Dominique Crenn in Beverly Hills.
