Spruce in San Francisco gave me a beautifully plated and delicious dining experience in Presidio Heights
After checking in at Laurel Inn, I quickly made myself ready for my dinner at Spruce.
I was welcomed with warmth and comfort as I was led to my seat. It was exactly what I desired after such a long day of travel – relaxed refinement in a beautiful space.
As I settled in and browsed the menu, I just felt – taken care of. That’s the best way to describe the service and nature of Spruce.
The bread, followed by two lovely accoutrements, were absolutely delicious.
I took a recommendation from the hostess and ordered the SWEET CORN VELOUTÉ (Cornbread Crumble, Jimmy Nardello Peppers, Basil Creme Fraîche). This was a sensory delight. The pouring of the velouté sauce onto my bowl was just – perfection.
Sometimes, presentation is everything.
For my main entree, I ordered the MAINE LOBSTER SPAGHETTI (English Peas, Tomato-Saffron Bouillon). Again, absolutely delicious and the right choice for dinner.
Due to the lateness of the hour, I opted to take my delicious BEIGNETS (Chocolate Sauce, Crème Anglaise) to go, so I could savor them back at the hotel.
But, the various dessert delights – especially the poached peaches with olive oil ice cream – was excellent.
Just look at that honeycomb.
I look forward to returning to Spruce again.
