Zeleste

Enjoying a light lunch at Zeleste in Nyhavn was a great restaurant to enjoy French Danish cuisine in Copenhagen, Denmark

After finishing up the Netto-Bådene Boat Tours around Copenhagen canals, I was feeling a bit hungry for a snack. I didn’t want a large meal. Rather, the vibe of a glass of wine and some snacks in a relaxing space.

I remembered passing by a strikingly gorgeous restaurant front while walking from Le Labo to the boat tour, earlier in the day. Something about it simply caught my eye. Could it be the blue accents against the neutral colored entryway? Could it be the adorable sign, claiming to have the best courtyard in Copenhagen?

I wanted to find out myself.

Walking back toward the restaurant, I was pleased to see it was open for lunch and pretty open for seating.

With that, a host seated us at a cozy table at Zeleste.

Browsing the menu, I ordered a selection of light bites for us to share.

The KROKETTER (Croquettes: Shrimps, lobster, parmesan & basil cream sauce) were tastefully presented and scrumptious. The SOJARISTEDE MANDLER (Soy roasted almonds) were tasty.

Plus, enjoying a bowl of  POMMES FRITES with a delicious AIOLI while savoring a glass of Chateau Roubine ‘Premium’ Organic Cotes de Provence Cru Classe Rose was the epitome what I desired.

Dining at Zeleste felt like I was sitting in a bistro in the heart of Paris – but in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was an hour well spent.
