Osmosis Day Spa Sanctuary in Freestone, CA, offers a unique wellness retreat with a Cedar Enzyme Bath and tranquil Kyoto-style gardens.
I can’t remember the first time Jessica told me about her time at the Osmosis Day Spa. But, I knew that she found it as a powerful place of renewal and calm in the midst of her busy life. I’ve been meaning to go for years. But finally, this trip, I decided to make it a priority.
Booking was an easy submission form on their website. After a few hours, I received a confirmation for my preferred time and was looking forward to unwinding after a busy weekend.
The drive to Freestone, California was relaxing. In less than an hour, I was transformed into the lush beauty of the backroad of Northern California.
Arriving at the Day Spa
Pulling into Osmosis Day Spa Sanctuary felt like I was transformed. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. I was shocked to see how residential the area seemed. However, the vibe was of the space was incredibly transformative and well and gorgeously landscaped.

After checking in, I was led to my changing room. After removing my clothes and putting on a kimono, I emerged and was led to the waiting room. This is where I started to detach from the routine of every day.

Relaxing in this wonderful room, I was given tea as my cedar enzyme bath was being prepared.
The Cedar Enzyme Bath
After a few minutes, I was led to the cedar enzyme bath room.

What’s fascinating is that the cedar enzyme bath is alive. The bath itself is a mixture of finely milled cedar bark, Douglas fir bark and rice bran. Enzymes are added to keep the mix alive and sanitary. What you relax in for 20 minutes is essentially the fermentation of the mix.
I was absolutely covered to my neck – and loved it.

After a few minutes of being submerged, my guide came in and put a cold towel on my forehead. I was in bliss as I meditated and felt grounded.
Afterward
After the bath, I was guided to brush as much of the remaining mix off my body as I could and then take a shower. It felt incredible.

Sound Meditation
After my bath and subsequent shower, I was led to the area for my bineral beats sound meditation next to the creek.

Post Meditation Walk
I had some nuts for nourishment and walked the Japanese garden.

After some time relaxing, I checked out at the front desk and was then on my way.

Overall, my time at Osmosis Day Spa was a time of appreciating the distinct beauty of taking time out for myself.
